This defenceman-specific camp is designed to continue developing elite defensive and transitional skills. Key areas of focus include:

• Elite skating and puck-handling skills required to perform under pressure.

• Puck retrievals on dump-ins and effective use of defensive partner support.

• Leading an effective breakout – vision, awareness, and clean transitions from defence to offence.

• Strong defensive-zone play – net-front defence, positioning, stick detail, communication, and defensive support.

• Offensive contribution from the blue line – recognizing opportunities, proper positioning, shooting with purpose, learning different shot options, and using deception to create offence.

• Effective neutral-zone play – positioning, gap control, and reading the rush.

• Competitive and small-area games to reinforce skills and decision-making in game situations.

The majority of each session will focus on defenceman-specific concepts, with portions of the camp integrating these skills into game scenarios alongside forwards.
Coaching will be led by Connor McDonald and Cavin Tilsley, with additional guest coaches. There are 9 TUESDAY sessions starting on April 7th 6:15 am - 7:20 until June 2nd 2026. Cost is $600 plus gst.
